  1. Dis na Psalm of David—wen he dey
    inside di desert of Judah. Oh Baba-God, na you be my God. For early mor-mor nahin I dey fyne you; my soul wan drink you like water, my body really want you—for land wey dry, where water no dey.
  2. I don fyne you inside your holy- place, to see your pawa and levels.
  3. My lips go praise you, becos your soft-love beta pass life.
  4. So I go praise you as long as I dey alive, and I go lift up my hand—con call your name.
  5. My soul go belleful wit fat and beta food, and my mouth go praise you wit happy songs for my lips.
  6. Wen I remember you on top of my bed; I go meditate on you tru- out di night.
  7. Na under di shadow of your feathers I go dey sing wit happiness, becos na you dey epp me.
  8. My soul dey follow you bumper-to-bumper; your right hand dey hold me strong.
  9. But those pipo wey dey fyne my life to
    kill me—dem go-go down to di grave.
  10. Na sword go kill dem, and dem go turn to food for bush dogs.
  11. But di king go happy inside Baba-God;
    everi-pesin wey dey swear wit Baba-God name—go praise am, but lie-lie pipo mouth go sharrap.
