Disobedience Dey Bring Baba-God Punishment

  1. How I wish sey my head na water, and my eyes be like tears wey dey flow, so dat I go cry for day and for night—for di killing of my pipo.
  2. How I wish sey I get room wey pesin wey dey travel, fit sleep put for inside desert, so dat I fit leave my pipo, con komot from dem, becos all of dem dey sleep outside dia marriage [dem dey worship idols instead of Baba-God], and all of dem be pipo wey no dey faithful.
  3. “Dem dey bend dia tongue like bows and arrow to tok lies, dem no fit stand strong for truth for di land. Dem dey jump from evil to evil and dem no gree follow me,” naso Baba-God tok.
  4. “Dey watch your neighbour, no trust your broda, becos even broda dey chance broda, and even padi dey bad-mouth hin padi.
  5. All of dem dey deceive dia neighbour, and dem no gree tok truth. Dem don teach dia tongue how to tok lie, and dem don press demsef down wit bad-bad-tins wey dem dey do.
  6. Una dey stay for di middle of wayo, dem no wan gree accept me inside dia wuru-wuru,” naso Baba-God tok.
  7. So dis na wetin Baba-God Almighty tok, “See, I go melt dem, con test dem, but which oda tin I fit do becos of di sins of my pipo?
  8. Dia tongue na arrow wey dem shoot to kill; e dey tok wit korni-korni. All of dem dey follow dia neighbour tok wit sweet-mouth, but for inside dia heart—na trap dem dey set for dia neighbour.
  9. Abi make I no punish dem for dis kain tin?” naso Baba-God dey ask, “Abi make I no revenge on dis kain nation?”
  10. So I tok sey, “I go cry and water go rush komot from my eyes—becos of di mountains, and I go cry becos of di pipo wey dey live for inside di desert; becos dem don burn dem, sote no pesin fit pass there; dem no fit hear di sound of malu for there again; both birds for sky plus animals for land—don run komot, and dem no dey there again.”
  11. Naso Baba-God tok sey, “I go turn Jerusalem to scata-scata, e go be place where wild animals dey live; di cities of Judah go turn to desert, e go be place where no pesin dey live.”
  12. So I ask, “Which man wise reach to understand dis tin? Who Baba-God don teach, wey fit explain dis tin to oda pipo? Why di land don scata and why e don turn to waste like desert wey no pesin fit cross?
  13. Baba-God con tok sey, “Na becos dem don shenk my law wey I set for dem; dem no gree obey me or follow my laws.
  14. Instead, dem don follow di tinking of dia stubborn heart, dem don follow Baals—wey dia papa teach dem.”
  15. So dis na wetin Baba-God Almighty tok, di God of Israel: “See, I go make dis pipo chop bitter food, con give dem water wey get poison—to drink.
  16. I go scata dem go abroad, to nations wey even dem and dia papa no sabi before, and I go pursue dem wit sword until I finish dem.”

19. Di voice of cry-cry loud from inside Zion: ‘Awa own don finish kpatakpata! Awa shame big well-well, becos we don fashi di land, becos awa house don scata finish.’ ”

20. So I tok sey, “Now, oh women, make una hear Baba-God word; open your eyes to wetin hin mouth dey tok, and teach your daughters how to cry, teach one anoda how to sing burial song.”

21. Death don climb enta tru di windows, and e don enta awa palaces, e don cut awa pikin komot from streets, and e don cut di young men from street.” Dis na wetin Baba-God tell me to tok.”

22. Baba-God tok sey, “Deadbody of men go be like horse-shit for field, like di fruits wey remain afta harvest—wit no pesin to gada dem.”

23. Na wetin Baba-God tok be dis: “Make wise man no use hin wisdom take make-mouth. Make strong man no use hin pawa take make-mouth. Make bigman no use hin moni take make-mouth,

24. But make pesin wey dey make-mouth, make-mouth about dis tin: sey he understand and sabi me—sey na me be Baba-God wey dey show soft-love, justice, plus goodness for di earth, becos na dis tins dey make belle sweet me,” naso Baba-God tok.

25. Baba-God tok sey, “Days dey come wen I go punish all those pipo wey circumcise for body—and no be for dia spirit—

26. Egypt, Judah, and Edom, plus di pikins of Ammon, and Moab, plus all di pipo wey dey for far-far, and for inside di desert; becos all dis nations no circumcise, and even di whole house of Israel no circumcise for dia heart.”
